A wide variety of shock equipment is available for controlled laboratory simulation of field conditions. High-impact testers that simulate underwater detonations and shipboard gunfire are available for test items and fixture weights up to 7400 pounds.

Shipboard vibration simulation is produced using a wide range of equipment and ranges from 4 to 100 Hz. Given specific test criteria, we can tests articles or systems up to 5500 pounds.  All test articles and test fixtures can be fully instrumented for data capture and analysis of peak shock and acceleration levels.

Special test fixtures can be designed and fabricated to meet customer requirements for weight and stiffness using software developed specifically for finite element and modal analysis.

Applicable Specifications:
MIL-S-901, MIL-STD-167, MIL-STD-202, MIL-STD-781, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-331, MIL-E-4158, MIL-E-5272, DOD-1399

Facilities Description

Shock

Mediumweight: MIL-S-901D to 7400 lbs.

Purpose of test is to verify the ability of shipboard installations to withstand shock loadings which may be incurred during wartime service due to the effects of nuclear or conventional weapons.

Lightweight: MIL-S-901D to 550 lbs.

Purpose of test is to verify the ability of shipboard installations to withstand shock loadings which may be incurred during wartime service due to the effects of nuclear or conventional weapons.
