NU Labs maintains a complete
engineering department staffed with
engineers
and physicists that provide a
wide
range of
technical services. Our engineers are capable of evaluating your testing requirements and
submitting program procedures to help you sell your test program. We are also experts in
the field of acoustics, shock and vibration, and
dynamics.
Field engineering and data acquisition is a large part of our
engineering effort. We can provide multiple position noise monitoring systems on an around
the clock basis to adhere to community noise regulations. Remote systems can also be
designed for automated data collection on any time interval. We also provide noise
exposure analysis for hearing conservation programs related to potential corporate
liability issues. We have a large inventory of portable instrumentation that can be used
for measurements at the test site.
Our test fixture design services feature
state-of-the-art computer based finite element analysis programs. We design
the test fixture structure, analyze the structure its stiffness, weight, and
shock response, and complete the job by fabricating the fixture in our own
fully equipped machine shop.
NU
Laboratories, Inc. has just added the capability to perform the Dynamic
Design Analysis Method or DDAM, a shock analysis program that estimates the
response of a component to shock loading.
DDAM,
used primarily to validate designs for the U.S. Navy, can estimate the
characteristics of underwater explosions, including the effects of shock
waves, and there effects on components for surface ships and submarines.
All on-board mission-essential equipment must be qualified for shock and our DDAM analysis can help you determine design characteristics early on.
Before you subject
your test article to the shock requirements of Mil-S-901,have NU Labs
analyze your design with DDAM.
